Madonna nominated to Rock Hall of Fame

Madonna has received a nomination to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008, along with Beastie Boys, John Mellencamp, Leonard Cohen, and disco era artists Donna Summer and Chic.

Also nominated for induction into the Hall are rapper Afrika Bambaataa, The Dave Clark Five and The Ventures.

These nominees join the elite ranks of other Hall of Fame members including Led Zeppelin, James Brown, Elvis Presley, Little Richard, and Blondie.

The artists will be honoured at a March 10 ceremony held at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City, where they may perform.

The honourees are nominated by approximately 500 musicians, industry professionals and journalists.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is located in Cleveland, Ohio and began annually inducting artists and members of the music community in 1986.
Band Of Horses reveal album tracklisting

Band Of Horses have revealed further details of their forthcoming album.

The follow-up to 2006's 'Everything All The Time' is called 'Cease To Begin' and was recorded in Seattle, Washington and Asheville, North Carolina. It features 10 tracks and is due out in the US via Sub Pop on October 9.

When describing the sound of the new album, frontman Ben Bridwell told NME.COM: "(Producer) Phil (Ek) likes to say that if the last record sounded like a northwest record, this one sounds like a southeast record. While it's not the fucking Oak Ridge Boys or anything, it does have some country leanings, but there are also a lot of rockers."
